Caustic soda is a base chemical widely used in many industries. It is a corrosive, colourless and odourless solution of sodium hydroxide in water. Fields of application are the textile and the pulp & paper industry, the production of detergents and the glass industry. It is also used for neutralisation and cleaning purposes as well as for the saponification of fats.
