Akzo Nobel has defined key performance indicators for the evaluation of all plant HSE-Performances, that have to be reported in a uniform and regular way. These indicators are compared within Base Chemicals as well as within Chemicals and of course with the defined targets.
Some of the key performance indicators are:
TIAR - Total Illness Absence Rate
LTI - Lost Time Injuries
CLTI - Contractor LTI
RW - Restricted Workcase
MT - Medical Treatment
SR - Severity Rate
FR - Frequency Rate (for LTI, RW und MT)
COD - Chemical Oxgen Demand of dicharge to surface water
VOC - Votatile Organic Compounds to air
NRW - Non Reusable Waste
NRW-H - NRW-Hazardous
Since 2005 more indicators are reported and compared with targets, for instance work related illnesses, consumption of energy and water as well as data on emission of green house gases. With this data Akzo Nobel publishes the annual CSR-Report (Corporate Social Responsibility).
